The team at Shark Park were confronted with the terrible news that a female and male tiger were killed in the shark nets this morning. Staff member Steve Benjamin took the pictures and then went to sea with the rest of the Shark Park team only to find another female tiger shark in the nets. Steve cut her free and then swam her to resuscitate her. She did swim off on her own but we hope that she is strong enough to survive.
This unnecessary and institutionalised slaughter of the sharks by Sharksboard has to stop.

This is a crime!!
The killing of sharks to create the FALSE impression of safety has gone on for too long. By the time people start realising that we are killing one of our greatest tourist assets in order to 'protect' our tourism we will have decimated them. :(
